Too posh to fail
I’m sure the mainstream media will be all over this one.
The United Auto Workers Union owns a world-class country club with a PGA-caliber golf course, swimming pools and condos for its members (and, space permitting, the public). Yes, this is the same UAW that has helped break the backs of American automakers with inflated wage and benefits demands for its members and then, while stonewalling on givebacks, comes to the taxpayer for a bailout.
Of course, the media made sure that everyone knew how much those slimy, jet-setting Big 3 CEOs made when they came to Washington for a handout. And they made sure everyone knew the obscene salaries of other companies’ CEOs and slammed AIG for holding lavish parties after that company was bailed out.
So will there be outrage at the UAW for its shameless extravagance? That’s about as likely as the public getting the member discount at the resort as a reward for bailing out the union.
