Who is “Advisor B”?
Is Rahm Emanuel “Advisor B”?
According to the criminal complaints against Gov. Rod Blagojevich, the governor, his chief of staff and an unidentified “Advisor B” in Washington engaged in a conversation Nov. 11 about a quid pro quo surrounding Blago’s senate seat appointment. The ideas floated allegedly included Blago being installed as head of Change to Win, an advocacy organization supported by unions, for appointing a candidate supported by Barack Obama.
According to the AP, “Advisor B” liked the proposed arrangement because, “from the president-elect’s perspective, there would be fewer ‘fingerprints'” as opposed to other deals.
It has been revealed the Emanuel had contact with the governor about the senate seat replacement.
“Advisor B” may also be a representative of the Service Employees International Union, which is an affiliate of Change to Win. However, SEIU is reported to be cooperating with the investigation, whereas Emanuel is ducking and dodging.
Either way, how does “Advisor B” know the president-elect’s perspective about the arrangement if the president-elect and his team had no involvement with Blago’s attempted deal-making?
